Visit of Professor Moussa Abou Ramadan (Strasbourg university) at Ifpo | Jerusalem, June 12-13

On June 12 and 13, Ifpo was pleased to welcome Professor Moussa Abou Ramadan, Professor of Muslim Law at the University of Strasbourg. On Wednesday, June 12, Mehdi Berriah (Ifpo) and Professor Moussa Abou Ramadan (Strasbourg University) were welcomed by Omar Abed Rabo, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Bethlehem University. After a meeting on the subject of collaboration between Ifpo, Bethlehem University and French universities, Mehdi Berriah and Moussa Abou Ramadan met undergraduate students from the university’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. They discussed the activities that will be set up as part of the collaboration between Ifpo and Bethlehem University, whether in archaeology, Islamology or research methodology workshops. On Thursday, June 13, at the Institut français Chateaubriand in Jerusalem, Moussa Abou Ramadan gave a lecture in French entitled « La Chari’a en Israël: La dialectique de l’israélisation et de l’islamisation », which highlighted the evolution of the discourse of the Sharia Court of Appeal in Israel in recent years and its relationship with the State of Israel.
