Online Arabic courses, July 2020 session
Due to the exceptional situation created by COVID-19 pandemic, Ifpo cannot hold face-to-face instruction programmes on its premises in Beirut and Amman in the month of July 2020. However, drawing on the experience that we have gained in distance learning since the beginning of the crisis, we have developped an alternative online offer.
A few words about this exceptional online session
The courses are given in Arabic by Lebanese, Jordanian and Syrian teachers who are native speakers and have a solid experience of teaching Arabic as a foreign language. Students are placed according to their level in small groups (6 to 10 persons) and receive 15 hours of classes per week for 4 weeks. Exceptionally, this offer includes private courses as well: 5 hours of individual classes a week, and 10 hours of collective classes. Two days prior to the beginning of the course, the students who have been accepted pass an oral exam in MSA. These tests, which take place during the pre-entry, allow students to be placed into groups according to their level in both MSA and dialect. Syrian-Lebanese or Jordanian dialect (grammar and expression) teaching is also offered (beginner’s level accepted), as an individual course.
The collective courses will take place between 9 a.m to 11 a.m (Beirut time) / between 8 a.m to 10 a.m (Paris time) and distributed as follows:
|Grammar MSA||3 hours|
|Media (print and broadcast)||3 hours|
|Written expression||2 hours|
|Oral expression||2 hours|
|Oral expression||2 hours|
|Dialect/press/grammar/written expression/oral expression/modern literature||3 hours (these courses can be mixed)|
The course will take place from the 1st of July until the 29th of July (excluding week ends: Saturday / Sunday).
The registration fee is 950 euros (€) for this course. Tuition fees must be paid in full no later than 15th June 2020.
