One-to-one Arabic courses at the French Institute of the Near East (Ifpo)/Online
In addition to the Arabic language courses organized by the Department of Arab, Medieval and Modern Studies, Ifpo offers a training in literal or dialectal Arabic based on individual courses.
A few words about this new offer:
9 hours of individual courses for 350 €. You choose how many hours a week – also depending on the availability of the teachers – and the courses that you would like to take. You can begin another session after you finish the first one.
The classes are taught in Arabic by Lebanese, Syrian and Jordanian professors who have a solid background in teaching Modern Standard Arabic to foreigners.
Note that Ifpo does not teach beginners in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA/fuṣḥā). One year of training (in a university setting or equivalent) is necessary in order to follow the literal courses.
For dialect Arabic, beginners are accepted.
The courses offered are: dialect, written and audiovisual press, grammar (fusha), oral or written expression and comprehension (fusha), modern history (profile 1), history of thought (profile 1), culture and civilization (profile 2) , classical literature (profile 1), modern literature (profile 1 and 2) and translation (translation Arabic – French and French – Arabic or Arabic – English and English – Arabic in Beirut, Arabic – English and English – Arabic only in Amman).
The courses will be given online, or at the premises of Ifpo (Beirut and Amman). We can eventually study the possibility that the teacher comes to your workplace.
